PCBC San Diego. Change of Venue, Same Great Show!
San Diego is where it all started for an entire state and this wonderful city is referred to as the ‘The birthplace of California’ may just signal the rebirth of the sluggish building industry in California.
After more than 50 years in San Francisco, the show recently moved for one year and is scheduled to alternate between these cities for the next three years. PCBC offers an exceptional opportunity for builders, designers, architects, dealers and potential new dealers to view many exciting products with company representatives. Both cities have great host environments with great attendance, easily accessible and large convention centers all with beautiful California weather.
So what was the real difference this year?
That might be best summed up by a statement from Bob McDonough of MCM Sales, an independent sales firm for Lincoln and Timeline Windows. On Wednesday at 1:13pm Bob said, “If this show ended right now, we had a great show in San Diego and for all of the markets we serve in California.”
This declaration was made approximately 4 hours after the show opened on the first day while he was reflecting on high floor traffic and decidedly upbeat conversations!
Maybe the renewed vigor was because the venue changed; it could certainly be attributed to the fact that vendor space was completely sold out or maybe the economy really is improving, finally. The actual reason may not be the most important factor.
What does matter is that vendors such as Lincoln/Timeline Windows find value in this show. The attendance was incredible and as a result, business will improve. Not only did existing customers find benefits, but because many new connections were made, several new dealers should be added.
With over 25 years in the window industry and many trade shows to his credit, Bob noted that this year’s show was simply one of his best. That is a lot of show experience, with many conversations held, in many cities throughout the United States.
From the Lincoln/Timeline sales team to everyone at PCBC: Thank you for the opportunity and the fun in San Diego. We will surely see you next year San Francisco!
