Glass

Energy Efficient

Glass is undeniably the most thought about, debated and prevalent component of a window or patio door. Timeline uses double strength (or thicker) glass on every product we manufacture. Heavier glass is more resistant to stress cracks and seal-failures, the leading causes of glass issues. Quality fenestration products always have double strength glass-Timeline always has double strength glass!

Combined with warm edge spacer technology, our glazing systems start showing their true potential. An insulating glass unit (glass, spacer, glass) has a significant influence on the energy performance of the total window. This important factor is why Timeline offers several different glazing choices. Glass can be clear insulated, LoDz, Lodz-366™/Neat®, or multiple obscure, tinted and laminated choices. The newest option, triple-glass, combines LoDz with Cardinal 180.

Triple Pane Glass

Our most ecologically aware combination of glass products designed for projects requiring extraordinary energy efficiencies such as the ENERGY STAR Northern Zone.

As the ENERGY STAR program ratchets up its requirements, our glass offering continues to provide consumers with an ability to comply. Timeline's Triple Pane offering is the next generation insulating glass package that tackles these stricter requirements by combining LoDz (272) and LoĒ 180.

This energy efficient glass lowers U-Values and retains more of your costly heat inside for the Northern and North/Central zones. Triple pane glass is argon gas-filled and assembled with Cardinal’s XL Edge® Spacer system for superior performance ratings.

XL Edge® Spacer

  1. Spacer is stainless steel.
  2. Desiccants assure optimum moisture absorption.
  3. Primary seal is "Polyisobutylene".
  4. Secondary seal is specially formulated silicone.

Dual Low-E

Dual Low-E is a very affordable and great performing insulated glass option.

Timeline's Dual Low-E insulating glass package is constructed by combining LoDz or Lodz-366™/Neat® with a pyrolytic (hardcoat) low-e surface.

This energy efficient glass lowers U-Values and retains more of your costly heat inside for the Northern and North/Central zones. For the South/Central and Southern zones, where Solar Heat Gain Coefficients are more important, our Dual LoĒ package with Lodz-366™/Neat® would be a natural choice.

Optional argon gas-filling and alternative spacer systems (intercept or foam) let you choose the perfect balance of cost versus performance rating.

Lodz-366™/Neat®

The optimum choice for solar shading, performance, clarity, and fading protection.

Can you feel the southern climate heat? Does the temperature raise every time you sit by the window? This is called solar heat gain and controlling it just became easier with the unparalleled performance of Lodz-366™ glass technology. By adding a third layer of silver coating, Lodz-366™/Neat® effectively blocks solar gain and reflects heat more efficiently.

The reduction of heat gain is only part of the story. All Lodz-366™ includes Neat® on the exterior! Neat® creates a smoother glass surface allowing water to shed quickly and dry faster. This permanent coating keeps glass cleaner longer and is easier to clean when needed.

Great glass performance can actually be seen as well as felt. UV light, the leading cause of fading, is blocked by up to 95% with Lodz-366™/Neat®. This means furniture, flooring, artwork and other home furnishings all will benefit from this glass technology.

LoDz

Increase the glass performance with this time-tested technology. Proven quality and value for a minimal investment.

Now you realize we can handle the basics. If your building project speaks of energy bill savings, more comfortable room spaces or meeting and exceeding energy star requirements, give LoDz the job.

Safeguard your home from the elements by using this nearly invisible protection called LoDz. Consisting of two microscopic layers of silver and sealed in the airspace, this glass is the first step-up from our standard insulating glass.

Obtain a great balance of U-value, solar shading and UV protection for remodeling projects, new homes and light commercial developments. So don't pay the energy penalty, choose the superior performance in windows with LoDz from Timeline.

Clear IG

All insulating glass (IG) is constructed with three major components. It’s the quality of these components, the glass, spacers and sealants that set companies apart.

We feel our IG system is the very best glass seal on the market today! The concept is simple: use a technologically advanced spacer system to create the insulated glass unit and reduce the amount of energy traveling through the glass structure. Expansion and contraction during a thermal cycle bring unwanted stress to IG units. Our spacer designs allow for glass movement resulting in low seal failure and stress crack rates and make Timeline windows trouble free for years.

Couple a warm edge spacer system with double strength glass and WOW what a combination! The industry doesn’t require heavier glass, we do. That’s why Timeline hasn’t produced insulated glass units with anything but double strength or heavier glass for over 10 years. Can you believe that some window companies believe stronger glass should be an upgrade? Add the best sealants available in the market today and the result is an outstanding insulated glass package. Less seal failures and stress cracks - we call it standard, shouldn’t you?

Glass movement - cold, neutral, and warm

Typical Glass Movement

  1. Warm edge spacer - consistent contact with glass surface.
  2. Typical box spacer - less flexible.

Warm Edge Spacer Options

A. Standard Spacer

  1. .010 u-shaped steel channel.
  2. Desiccated matrix compound.

Argon Gas

For greater energy efficiency, argon is added to all LoE glass units, at no cost to the customer, with the exception of those units requiring capillary/breather tubes. These units include, but are not limited to, glass 12” and less in width or height and units shipped over high elevations. Timeline does not guarantee that the initial argon fill rate will be maintained over the life of the product. Argon depletion may decrease energy efficiency.
